Split-screen race across 5 levels. First to each Master Emerald advances — Level 5’s emerald wins the match.

Player 1 — Sonic A / D run · W jump · S duck · S+W spin dash
Player 2 — Mario J / L run · I jump · K duck

Each player has 4 lives (hearts at the top). Lose them all and it’s GAME OVER for both. Grab rings and coins. Stomp foes from above. Spikes, pits, and bombs sting — bombs arm when you get close (jump the blast!). Clear Stages 1–4, then race Sidekick Sprint — first to stomp the mystery box gets Tails or Toad. Beat Level 5’s emerald to win.
